Baseball Day at the Fort

Don't forget, next Saturday 6th September is Baseball Day at the Fort (Narrabundah). This is Canberra's annual Baseball Day.

This is an extra opportunity to get registered with the club, as well as a chance to have a bit of fun.

Baseball Day at the Fort
Come to Canberra Cavalry’s home ballpark on the 6^th September from 12pm-2pm for Baseball Canberra’s annual Baseball Day – a great opportunity to try baseball and kick start the new season.
This is for all baseball players and their families and for new players wanting to try baseball before signing up for the new season.

There will be heaps happening out at the ball park, including:

• MLB training stations            
• A BBQ
• Club registration and information
• Canberra Cavalry memberships, merchandise and information

WHERE: Narrabundah Ballpark, Narupai Place, off Jerrabomberra Avenue, Narrabundah ACT

WHEN: Saturday 6th September 12pm – 2pm

Scoring Clinics

Every team deserves to have its own scorer. Would you like to score for one of our teams? There are clinics coming up on how to score, also recommended for those wanting to improve their skills.

ACT Baseball Scorers Association 2014/15 Season Scoring Clinic
Any person interested in learning to score, or those wanting to improve their skills, are invited to attend the upcoming clinic. All levels/age groups catered for.

An invitation from Vikings Group:

I  would like to invite you all to the official launch (AKA BBQ breakfast) of the Vikings Group affiliated club ACTION bus, at the Viking Park car-park on Tuesday 26 August 9:15am.

This is your opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with the affiliated club bus, instead of craning your necks when driving to see them and yourself on the bus!

A lot of our affiliated clubs kindly posed to appear on the bus and now your smiling faces are now “larger than life” driving around the Valley!

Don’t miss your chance to take some Instagram and Facebook photos of the bus (selfies allowed) – because it’s not every day that you and your mates appear on a bus…well I assume not.
Plus we will be putting on a BBQ breakfast for all who attend!

Please feel free to bring family members and friends along – as I am sure some proud mums and kids want to take some photos!
Just for catering purposes if you could please let me know if you are attending (by COB Friday 22 August) and if you are bringing people along, that would be great!

We need club umpires

Vikings Baseball needs more Level 0 umpires in order to meet our commitments. This is for Saturday games only.

 

The ACT Baseball Umpires Association will be staging a Level O Umpiring Course prior to the start of the 2014-2015 season.  Attending a Level O Course is a requirement for those who are going to umpire ACT Baseball Association games -- Juniors, Seniors, or Women's.

The Course takes the form of an evening-long introduction to responsibilities, rules, methods, and positioning; follows an Australian Baseball Federation-mandated format; and will conclude with an open-ended question-and-answer period.

The Course will start at 7:00pm on Tuesday, August 26th

West Belconnen Fire & Rescue Station
5 Lhotsky St, Charnwood
Cnr Lhotsky St and Tillyard Drive

Please note: Limited public parking on-site but, parking is available straight across the road at McDonalds or in the Charnwood shopping centre

The following Saturday, the 30th of August, there will be a non-mandatory on-field session at Narrabundah for those who have attended that, or any other, Level O course and wish further instruction on signals, positioning, and game management.
