URGENT NOTICE - U17's Coach Needed
Vikings u16 team has been changed to an u17 competition
The consensus of the Baseball Canberra Council is that an
Under 17 competition better serves our short and long term retention needs, as
such this year we will be replacing our U16 and U18 competition with a two
tiered Div 1 and Div 2 U17 competition.
What
this means for Vikings? Our u16 team becomes our u17
side. Players born in 1999, 2000 or 2001 are eligible to play u17's.
Training for u17 players will be held on Wednesdays and
Fridays 5.30 to 7.15 at Viking Park. Our next training will be Wednesday 7
October. If all players could attend next week either on the Wednesday or
Friday that will help the coach organise the team for the first game expected to
be on Saturday 17 October (Junior draws will be released shortly).
Will
we field teams in both Divisions? It is possible that the Club
will have enough registrations be able to field a Division 2 side but a Div 2
side will only happen only if we are able to secure the services of coaches and
a scorer in the next 7 days. It would be a fantastic for the ongoing
development of Vikings Baseball if we were able to field two sides in this age
group. If you are able to coach for score for the Viking Division 2 side please
come to the Wednesday practice and introduce yourself to one of the Vikings

Some
things to note:
- D2 will play 10:30am at club grounds - where possible, U17
D2 will follow U14 D1 games allowing for the exceptional U14 players to play up
and create additional depth
- The registration cost will be the same
