U16s Eagles Summer Series Sydney

Last weekend our Vikings U16 boys, along with “friendlies” Matty Gaughran and Josh Murray participated in the Eagles Summer Series competition held by Sydney Diamond Sports.

It was a beautiful weekend of baseball, the weather was amazing and the Aquatic Centre had some lovely playing fields.  As a club team playing against Association sides it was great to see how competitive our boys were.  Of the four games we had a win, a draw and 2 losses, but were in a position to win each game and definitely showed that we had the right stuff.

It was particularly impressive to see that when the team was behind the boys didn’t give up but persevered and on two occasions were unlucky to run out of game time in the middle of remarkable comebacks.

Tim Dutton chosen for 2014 U15 IBAF World Cup Team!

Tuggeranong Vikings Baseball would like to congratulate Tim Dutton on his selection in the 20-man squad participating in the 2014 15U IBAF World Cup!

"Dutton, along with 3 other Canberra players, Mark Zhang, Julian Paramonov, Jordan Coffey all were chosen in the 40-man squad and attended the 15U World Cup selection camp on the Gold Coast recently.

Over the course of the training camp all 4 players demonstrated their skills and athleticism in front of Australia’s State High Performance Managers, State coaches, and the national coaching staff.

Dutton made a huge impact at the camp, being chosen in the 20 man squad that will travel to Mexico from 31 July to 10 August. This event has established itself as the premier international baseball event for this youth age category, with the best under-15 baseball players in the world representing their countries."
